EMCA attends the Opening of the European Week of Sport

Tibor Navracsics, for the fifth time in his career as EU Commissioner – opened the Week, with a powerful speech about the importance of practicing sport and physical activity, before being active himself, playing (a winning!)  a short “street football” tournament in team with Ignazio Cocchiere (EU Commission – Sport Unit).

The second part of the day was dedicated to a specific seminar focused on different tools and ideas to make people – especially youngsters – more active. Three different sessions gave three different perspectives, referring to different actors of the sport movement: schools and education, municipalities and sport organizations.

Even though coming from different areas, all speakers were united in a common voice: we need to encourage people to enhance their healthy lifestyle, because sport is crucial for the development of the European citizens. So, that is why we would like to encourage everyone to #BeActive! The fifth edition of the European Week of Sport is officially open.

In September the 5th European Week of Sport: #BeActive!

This year, the 5th-annual European Week of Sport will be the biggest ever, with events supported by 47 partner associations in 41 countries. Since the second edition, the European Multisport Club Association is partner of this event, aiming at promoting an active lifestyle through a variety of celebrations and events.

The official opening ceremony of the Week will take place in Espoo (Finland) on 23 September 2019, and will be followed by a seminar  named”How to make young people more active?” in the afternoon of the same day. EMCA will be there, participating and promoting the #BeActive spirit!
