23 Olympiacos athletes at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games

The world’s greatest sporting event, the Paris Olympic Games, is just around the corner and once again, Olympiacos stands out as a key contributor to the Greek National Olympic Team. Out of the 101 Greek athletes participating, Olympiacos is proudly represented by 23 players. As the largest multi-sport club in Europe, Olympiacos will compete in four sports: basketball, water polo, athletics, and swimming. The Olympiacos athletes that will be representing Greece in the Games will be: in Basketball, Kostas Papanikolaou, Thomas Walkup and Giannoulis Larentzakis, in athletics, Emmanuel Karalis (pole vault) in Swimming, Apostolos Christou (100m backstroke, 200m backstroke / 4x100m mixed medley), Stergios-Marios Bilas (50m freestyle / 4x100m freestyle), Apostolos Papastamos (200m individual medley, 400m individual medley), Panagiotis Bolanos (4x100m freestyle) and Evangelos-Efraim Doumas (4x100m mixed medley). The mens and women’s water polo teams will be represented by Manos Zerdevas, Dinos Genidounias, Giannis Fountoulis, Alexandros Papanastasiou, Nikos Gillas, Dimitris Nikolaidis, Margarita Plevritou, Vasiliki Plevritou, Eleftheria Plevritou, Elena Xenaki, Nikoleta Eleftheriadou, Ioanna Chidirioti, Ioanna Stamatopoulou and Maria Myriokefalitaki.

The presence of these athletes in multiple disciplines highlights Olympiacos’ significant contribution to Greek sports and its commitment to nurturing talent across a broad spectrum of activities.
