In the past weeks, we pledged the great initiative done by Ferencvaros in establishing the “Fradi Fair Play Committee”. Last week, the Hungarian Club held a gala celebration at the Elek Gyula Arena, to hand over for the first time in the club’s history the Fradi Fair Play Awards.
It was an intensive, 50-minute-long event, with speeches by the COO of Ferencváros, the co-Chairmen of the Fradi Fair Play Committee (Andrea Gyarmati MD, former Olympic silver medallist swimmer and Péter Bácsi, wrestling world champion of Ferencváros) and Jenő Kamuti MD, President of the International Fair Play Committee.
Two where the prize categories: “True Green–White Hero”, dedicated to an athlete, who did something extraordinary in the spirit of Fair Play; and the “Fradi Heath”, special category where to celebrate an individual, a supporter, an organization or a company which supported one of the important goals or actions of Ferencváros.
For this first year, the “True Green-White Hero” award was given to the young swimmer Oliver Patlok, while the “Fradi Heath” went to Jozsef Kekesi, best known as “Mailman Jozsi”.
After the ceremonial event, the members of the committee shared their views on the winners, the importance of the Fradi Fair Play Award and other moving moments.
